We gots new year fever!

2011--Say what!?

Another year gone. Time tends to fly when life is happening and this year definitely went too fast for the k3y three. I'm excited that come February I will no longer be the only member of this best friend triangle that is over 19 years old. Thank goodness. As we say farewell to 2010 tonight and hello to 2011, I think it's important that we remember to do two things: (1)-We need to think back on the fond memories and enjoyable experiences from 2010, and (2)-We need to make very do-able new years resolutions for 2011, to move forward and stay motivated. I tend to freak myself out with thoughts of getting old so I decided that one of my resolutions will be to embrace my 20 year old ness. As hard as that is, clinging to the days when my age had a 1 in front of it is even harder. Good luck to me.

I'm sitting here, trying to think back on the k3y three's fondest memories and enjoyable experiences...a year is a long time and I tend to have this weird problem where I have no concept of time. I will try however, to remember some of the k3y three's more memorable moments, and put them in rough chronological order.

Our 2010-- By: The K3y Three

January:
- The second semester of our first year in college began.
- Hannah and Britania continued at UVU. Hannah studying Photography and Britania studying History Education.
- Jenna continued at BYU studying Physiology and Developmental Biology.
- We could not have more different interests and love each other more.
- Hannah quits Magleby's Grill (Thanks to Jenna's constant reminder to do so). She then begins her new job as a college advisor at Renevati. Commonly mistaken for Rent A Body--probably a real company.
- Meeting up in the late hours of the night to get a diet coke, Mcdonald's fries, and talk about our days events becomes a tradition.

- One campus is slightly larger than the other.

February:
- Britania turns 19 on February 5th. A surprise party is held for her at her apartment. :)
- Jenna and Hannah spend Valentines day with the girls, I cannot remember where Tani was but nonetheless-boys are way dumb.

March:
- This was probably around the time that the phrase "I'm scared" started being used by the K3y three for any and every situation in our lives.

April:
- The K3y three went for a scooter/go-ped ride and took a band photo.
- Finals, as usual almost killed even the best of us.
- Our first year of college was complete :) Good job us.

May:
- The final member of the K3y three turned 19 on May 9th.
- She thought that we didn't plan anything for her birthday.
- We would never not plan something.
- With the help of Devin and Keala we made her de-code a message on a giant card that said "Pack your bags".
- We took her to Little America in Salt Lake instead :) And got a little crazy.

- May was a good month because the K3y three also went on an underpass adventure.

- We also discovered 50 cent mustaches.

June:
- Jenna and Hannah got pretty patriotic for Flag day. Britania was regrettably working at Green Tea--which takes up an enormous amount of her time. Boo.
- We also started hitting up the pool at any available chance. Diet coke, Harry Potter, and some tanning oil= most of our summer.

- Hannah and Britania decided to take a little road trip up to Boise Idaho to visit Hannah's family. Our activities involved snuggling, reading, painting, lounging, eating, shopping, and loving.
- No make up was worn and no hair was washed.

July:
- The K3y three celebrated the 4th of July..and that's pretty much all that we remember about that month.
- All of us worked a lot..including Jenna who took complaint calls at a college advisement center. Not the same place as Hannah..randomly there are more than one.

August:
- A busy busy month for the K3y three.
- Hannah and Britania were separated for the longest amount of time and the farthest distance apart since their meeting 7 years previous. Hannah went to Florida with David and Britania was scared. Hannah tried to not enjoy Florida too much, but that was pretty difficult.
- Lucky for Hannah however, she came home to find that Britania had become employed at her same place of work. :) No coincidence.
- Britania got a new sister in law. Total count= 2.

I enjoyed this trip maybe a little too much :)

- Also in August, we met a couple boy alter egos and ran with it. I think the pictures speak for themselves. We're pleased to introduce you to Ty, Mitch, and Trev.

September:
- The Duchess came into our lives and changed our hearts.

- Our second year of college began...we're getting scared..cause we're getting old.

October:
- First things first, the K3y three went for a relaxing picnic up the canyon to enjoy each others company. Best picnic in the world.
- We had a genius idea to start a blog to give people an inside look at the workings of the best bestfriendship in the world.
- Hannah had the opportunity to take some family pictures for some people she kind of likes..or loves with all her heart :) Freezes=crazy fun.
- Of course we had to match for Halloween, who do you think we are? Soda cans anyone?

November:
- This was an incredibly important month of the year for us.
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas prep.
- Harry freaking Potter.

Shout out to a couple of besties we support.
Keep up the good work Maggie and Shelbey <3

December:
- Christmas time is really when the K3y Three's true colors shine. Since we had a Christmas chain counting down the days till the 25th, we planned some other activities to keep us busy.
- Christmas craft party on December 2nd was a huge success.
- Hannah turned twenteen/20 on December 19th.
- Christmas day was bliss.

And...here we are in January 2011 :) Congratulations on making it through the longest blog post in history. Apparently a lot happens in a year/365 days. Another year is before the K3y Three and we're feeling spontaneous. Many more adventures to come.

Goodbye 2010, you treated us well!

It's Her Birthday, I Can Cry If I Want To..

Anyone who reads this blog knows that we love this time of year. Christmas activities are time consuming for us, but we're never too busy to celebrate one VERY special event:

-HANNAH'S BIRTHDAY!!-

That's right! Our favorite bestie is having a birthday this weekend! :) How old is this cute little girl, you might ask...?

She's going to be the big 2-0, aka TWENTEEN!

I'm so excited to celebrate the birth of my best friend! We've spent every birthday together since we turned 13 :) In honor of this years bday celebrations, I'm going to give you faithful followers 20 Facts That You Didn't Know About This 20 Year Old:
  1. Hannah was almost named Sloane. Turns out Ma and Pop Gibson were big fans of Ferris Bueller's Day off...? It was a close call.
  2. Her favorite animals are lambs. Probably because they're sweet and adorable, just like her!
  3. She loves Seinfield, probably more than anyone that I know.
  4. She's an incredible writer. Seriously, she can write beautiful poems.
  5. She may seem sweet and well behaved.. but this bday girl was quite the hellion in middle school. (I witnessed it/assisted in it) :)
  6. She weirdly loves to wear fun patterned socks. ha now that I think of it, I rarely ever see her in just plain white socks.
  7. She doesn't like pretzels. They dry her mouth out or something.
  8. She has over 17,000 pictures saved on her computer. That's not an exaggerated number, I promise.
  9. She will never say no to some mint chocolate chip ice cream.
  10. She would willingly throw herself in front of a bus to save a half dead cat if it stumbled into the road. She doesn't do well with any sort of animal cruelty...at all.
  11. Her favorite author: Chuck Palahniuk. (that's obviously not including JK Rowling..)
  12. Her biggest weakness in life are shoes. She does not possess the ability to say no to a pair of shoes that she loves.
  13. She couldn't correctly spell the word "bored" until she was about 16.
  14. Her first car accident took place approximately 3 weeks after she got her license. She completely side-swiped a parked car in a middle school parking lot. We still won't let her live it down.
  15. She cries when she's sad, she cries when she's happy, she cries in movies, she cries when she laughs too hard, she cries when she's excited, she cries when she talks about her besties...basically she's just emotional and not afraid to show it.
  16. You would never guess by looking at her, but she is better at guitar hero than any girl I know. She can play on expert, probably with her eyes closed.
  17. She has a fetish for sparkly eye shadow. Or anything with sparkles.
  18. She once had golf ball sized tonsils..then they were cut out. It was scary, but it made up for the fact that she never had any wisdom teeth to get pulled.
  19. Her #1 hottest celeb: Mark Wahlberg
  20. She loves hoop earrings.

There you have it! Celebrating Han's birthday reminds me of how grateful I am that she's my best friend! She means the world to me and I don't know what I'd ever do without her!

Thanks for being born my bestie!! <3

Christmas comes but once a year

Tuesday: Normally not my favorite day of the week, BUT today is special. The past few weeks have been a lot like this for the key three:

My last final is at 1:00 and then..I'm free! Free to celebrate Christmas to my hearts content. Being busy is stupid. I have had barely any time to wear my Christmas sweaters, go caroling, or spend quality time with my besties. I also haven't had time to go Christmas shopping!!! Perhaps my very favorite thing about the holidays is picking out gifts for my loved ones. I love looking online to get fun ideas for what gifts to give!

To help, some of my favorite stores have online gift finders that give you great ideas-

Anthropologie: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/category.jsp?popId=CLOTHES&navAction=top&navCount=5&isSortBy=true&pushId=CLOTHES-GIFTTOOL&id=CLOTHES-GIFTTOOL

Nordstom: http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/womens-clothing?origin=topnav

Soel Boutique: http://soelboutique.blogspot.com/

Blickenstaffs: http://blickenstaffs.com/store_progress.php?num=22

Borders Book Store: http://www.borders.com/online/store/Home?schid=GGL|G_Borders+Brand|Borders+Exact|borders.com&jkId=8a8ae4cc2a07be2c012a1445872f4dca&jt=1&jadid=5301317428&js=1&jk=borders.com&jsid=20516&jmt=1&&gclid=CMW_zeiu7KUCFQJvbAodPRwtpA

So those are just a few of the fun places to look for gifts this year. I also love receiving gifts that are homemade, my besties make me the cutest giant cards on the planet. Remember, don't let Christmas shopping stress you out, there is plenty of time and don't be afraid to get creative :)

Happy Gifting!

The end is in sight..

Whoa whoa whoa guys, calm down. I didn't mean the end of this blog is in sight, and I surely didn't mean the end of the k3y three's friendship is in sight! (that would be the most awful/inconceivable idea in the world) ...I was referring to
the end of the semester!!

Yup. It's almost over! And let me assure you, it couldn't come soon enough. The three of us have been hard at work for the past few months, and all of the homework and tests and studying and tests and quizzes and studying and homework we've been doing has seriously cut into our bestie time! Which is no bueno. We've had to get by squeezing in time for each other with phone calls and texts, and occasional quick trips to McD's! And finals week is bound to make matters worse. :(
*As a side note I would like to mention how proud of am of Hannah and Jenna for working so hard this semester to get good grades! They're both so smart!! :)

So obviously we're pretty psyched for a little break full of friendship and holiday cheer before we hit the books again in January! Here's what you'll most likely find us doing to celebrate our time off:

  •  Christmas Shopping

We love shopping, but we're poor working college students.. so it doesn't happen as often as we'd like. However, during the holidays we can't resist spending money on each other. Who doesn't love buying gifts for their best friends?! ...I've had lists made of what I want to buy friends and family since August. No joke.

  • Christmas Crafts

These besties love to craft, but mostly we love to CHRISTMAS craft! Hannah's house is supply central, because her mom has gone a little craft crazy this season...no complaints here! :) We've already made some cute ornaments to hang on our trees, and who knows what we'll come up with next. We have weeks left to get creative!

  • Ice Skating

Okay, so I have to admit... Ice skating is not exactly my favorite holiday activity...I don't care for it at all actually. But this year my best friends want to go. So of course I wont hesitate for a second to put on my mittens, strap on some skates, and hold their hands around the rink! As long as I get some cocoa after I'll be fine.

  • Christmas Service

We've wanted to do some sort of charitable act for years, so hopefully this is the year that we'll find some sort of service we can do! (if anyone has any ideas let us know!)
  • Snuggling

If you think this isn't an important pastime, well then I feel sorry for you because your best friends are dumb. So maybe you don't have to be fully embracing to enjoy each others company..but it's nice just be able to spend time with my besties without stressing over what projects or homework we need to get done! We're not the kind of girls that need to be entertained at all times, that's for sure. We are fully content popping in a dvd and laying on the couch together. (if these situations lead to a slumber party..so be it)

last, but not least...
  • Our Annual Girls Christmas Party!

Every year our group of girl friends gets together for a Christmas party/dinner. We usually have it at Hannah's house. Let me tell you, this isn't just a thrown together night of festivities. It takes weeks of planning and preparation! We draw names for a gift exchange, we assign each girl food items to bring, and we plan games and activities to play after dinner. We love to dress up and turn it into a nice, cell phone free evening. Because we all have different schedules and busy lives, it's so rare that all of us can be together for a night.

I look forward to this party every year because no matter how long it's been since we have all be together, once we're in each others' company we act the same as we have since 7th grade!
<3

So now you know what the k3y three will be up to this holiday season! Hopefully this post has inspired you to work hard to push through these last 2 weeks of finals, and hopefully you're brainstorming fun Christmas activities to look forward to! We're always looking for more ideas, so let us know what you do with your best friends to bring about holiday cheer!!

Happy Friday!

:) Ahhhh Friday, you couldn't have come sooner, thank you. As we're all about to get off of work I just wanted to say, enjoy the weekend everyone, you deserve it.

Also, I came across this picture today and couldn't stop laughing.

See you all on Monday!!!
